I used to live in eyeliner. It was the only product I wanted and/or needed, the only cosmetic item I’d smear across my eyelids every day, and the only item I poured serious money into in order to look (but mostly feel) comfortable in my own skin.
Now that I’m almost 30, the effects of constantly dragging various pencils across my eyelids and vigorously wiping it away at the end of the day have begun to catch up with me. My eyes just aren’t as open as they were in my teens to early 20s, and my lids are now slightly hooded in the corners (whee! Isn’t aging fun?!). I’m also constantly buried in my computer or sewing machine thanks to my work from home lifestyle at Oh Tiny Heart and blogger life, so when I do glam up, I go for natural beauty more often than not.
These subtle changes in both my lifestyle and physical features have steered me toward using less eyeliner and focusing more on enhancing my face overall. I’m more bold in my lipstick choices, tend to stick to products that make me look like I’m not wearing a sh*tload of makeup (even though I am, I totally am), and I deepen and enhance my look when I need to rather than going for dramatic makeup every single day.
To achieve the above look, I plucked a few of my favorite cosmetic items from my stockpile. You can easily substitute the below cosmetics for similar items in your own collection, but for the purpose of this post, I wanted to give you an easy list to choose from should you feel the need to look beautiful and natural while embracing your age. :)
The best part about this look is that you can wear whatever lipstick or lip color you want with it! Bold reds, fresh peaches, glossy nudes — whatever you want.
