I woke up this morning realizing that I just have absolutely nothing to do. This whole “not working” thing is great and all, but I’m starting to get antsy. It’s definitely been nice just hanging around in bed all day and watching Netflix, playing video games and doing whatever I want, but the truth is that if I don’t do something productive with my time, I start to get sort of depressed?
I know that’s weird. It’s my “workaholicism” acting up.
So instead of just curling up in bed all day in front of my TV and computer like I have been for the past week or so, I threw on something cute (pictured above), slapped some light makeup on my face and took a trip to the mall to kill some time by being active.
Whenever I visit the mall, I pass by this little cupcake stand called Cako, and every time I walk by, I tell myself that I’ll try something from there in the future. But I never do! Today, however, I was feeling a little adventurous — especially after being cooped up in my room all weekend — so I snatched up a strawberry cheesecake cupcake on impulse.
And ohmygod, mmm. First smile of my day, seriously.
I don’t know if I’m just a sugar-loving freak or what, but man. Yum!
That delicious little cupcake definitely set the mood for the 5 to 6 hours of shopping I did afterwards, ha! And yes, it totally tasted like strawberry cheesecake. The gooey cheesecake stuff on top was a little overwhelming after a few bites though, so I didn’t finish it, but … I’m thinking I’ll buy one every time I visit the mall now — they’re so cheap! Like $2.50 (USD) or something. I forget. Whatever — totally worth it.
I know I’m making some ridiculous face in this photo, but that’s because that shirt was way too big on me. Why, American Eagle?! Why would you size something as “XS” when it’s really an “S”, or even a freaking “M”? This thing was huge, Jesus!
But yeah. I’m sort of on this hunt for more button-up shirts right now. My entire wardrobe is full of either super casual stuff like tees and tanks to chill in, or majorly fancy things like gorgeous dresses and coats. But the few things I do not seem to have in my closet are button-up shirts! Mostly because I can’t find shirts I actually like that fit well. The perfect example being the pink shirt in the photo above.
Right after trying on this awful thing, I stopped by Guess to see if they’d have something cute that I liked. Guess always has things in my size, though its stuff tends to be a bit overpriced.
This shirt, for example, fits perfectly! I almost bought it, too! But the thing is like, $80. And while I’m all about finding the perfect shirt that fits well and looks great on me, I just couldn’t justify spending $80 on something that felt as flimsy/cheap as this thing. It looks great in photos, sure, but I dunno. I figured, I have all the time in the world to shop around — if I really don’t find another button-up somewhere else that I like, I’ll just come back here and buy it.
So no, I didn’t purchase it. I’m picky like that.
Besides, for $80, this shirt better be made of indestructible kevlar, goddamnit.
My next stop was Express, where on my hunt for a button-up, I stumbled across this great black leather jacket. Unfortunately, I seriously have so many black leather jackets in my wardrobe — it just didn’t make sense to me to buy yet another one. It looks nice, I know, but that’s no reason to buy something. I had to think practically.
If you want to go pick it up, it’s around $100 or so? Not bad for something that looks like this.
But still not really what I was looking for, so I moved on (also, XS shirts at Express are always kinda loose on me).
Oh man. I will always love H&M. Their clothing always fits me, is always super cheap, and they always have really interesting pieces that help express your personality. I kinda went crazy here trying everything on, and ended up walking away with a ton of stuff I really liked (although I didn’t take pictures of it all). It also helps that H&M is having this crazy sale right now, and there is seriously so much great stuff up for grabs! I couldn’t help myself.
I bought the hilarious Christmas-sweater-looking shorts in the picture above for only around $10 or so (OMFG, so cheap), but ditched the bow shirt. I don’t need more tank tops, damn it.
I also saw this cute black cardigan type shirt, but I dunno. I wasn’t feeling it too hard, so I decided against it as well.
I definitely picked up this front-zipper closure dress. I love long-sleeved mini dresses — they’re seriously my favorite, haha. I’m a skinny bitch, so anything that accentuates curves and draws attention to my legs is my kinda dress, ha. The material on this thing is a mix of cotton and whatever else, so it’ll be fun to wear as a casual thing during the day! It’s also a great print for the season. I’m psyched to match cool shoes with it, heh. I think this thing was only like, $10? $15? Frikkin cheap. Thanks, H&M.
I also picked up three new mini skirts, a black silk button-up shirt, this ridiculous heart teeshirt that I completely regret buying but can’t return except it’s okay because it was only like $5 (USD), a black leather jacket even though I know I said I don’t need more black leather but I couldn’t help myself because this thing was only $40, this cute shoulder case for my iPhone 4S, and a black lace mini dress that shows off my curves like whoa — and all this for only around $150. Holyyy shiiiiit. SO CHEAP. TOO RIDICULOUS.
And no, I didn’t take pictures of any of those things.
And no, I don’t plan on taking pictures of them (unless I wear them sometime in the near future).
So no, don’t ask me to see them. You’ll get an eyeful eventually anyway. I always take pictures when I get dressed up. :P
Ohmygod, why am I even blogging right now? Just a habit, I guess. I’m so beat right now from shopping all day in freaking high heels — what was I thinking?! Hahaha. I need to pass out immediately. I’m off to go zone out to more episodes of How I Met Your Mother on Netflix now.
Sleeeepy,
